It is a tradition to write to my future self, reflecting on the previous year, and musing on hopes for the upcoming year. This hasn’t changed, only time has.
2023
Life lessons
- Start finishing ~ It is always easy to start, but hard to finish — so start finishing — was top of my mind this year. To celebrate, I started by “finishing school engagements” and actually graduated with an Executive MBA.
2024
Outlook of the New Year
- Finishing reading books that I have put on hold for the last two years.
- Finishing projects I have put on hold for a while now.
- Being present for friends and family. That — is my principle and every other situation revolves around it.
The message to myself is really short — and that is by design — and this is where I am at in life. There are so many “life projects” out there, that one cannot complete in a single lifetime. “Time is a tool” ~ obviously, I should use it wisely, and spend more of it on things that really matter. Everything else — can wait.
